A family farm dedicated to forest and nature conservation, ecotourism, and agriculture. We have lodging options, horseback riding tours, rafting, and hiking, and we produce our own sustainable coffee. Our privileged location in the lowlands of Turrialba allows us to observe varieties of Caribbean birds that are not seen in the rest of the province; we also have private access to the Pacuare River.
Finca Tres Equis encompasses 318 hectares. Surrounded by exuberant nature, spectacular views of the Turrialba Volcano, and private access to the Pacuare River, this property is unique in the area. Its location within the Barbilla-Destierro Biological Subcorridor, known as “El Paso del Jaguar” (the Jaguar Passage), and its adjoining the Cabécar Indigenous Reserve, makes this an ideal place to also enjoy cultural experiences such as a visit to the Nairi Awari indigenous reserve— one of the stages of El Camino from Costa Rica, a coast-to-coast hiking trail.
We offer two lodging options for visitors: a wooden cabin with capacity for six people, and a glamping tent with the best location to enjoy outstanding views of the Turrialba Volcano.
We have various crops on the farm. We produce our own coffee, and we also have a small pitahaya plantation.
A network of trails and paths of several kilometers run through the Finca at different points; these are used for horseback riding, hiking, or to visit the forests that we have protected for more than 25 years. With an extension of more than 270 hectares of secondary and regenerated forest, the natural wealth here is extraordinary. It’s the delight of biologists, botanists and visitors to the farm.
The Pacuare River offers the best class III-IV rapids in the country. It is also considered one of the 10 best rivers in the world for rafting due to the scenic beauty throughout its length, and its degree of difficulty.
