Finca ViaLig Insecticos offers a life experience in a panorama of community rural tourism. We connect visitors to a a unique concept through a farm where we produce, exhibit and demonstrate. An ideal complement or addition to the experience of people who love to hike and walk.
After many years of maintaining land with traditional crops such as sugar cane and coffee, low prices, pests, and limited marketing alternatives have left a void in the family economies of the families of rural towns. However, it has been possible to establish a unique collective idea to create a new enterprise that breaks with tradition to generate income for one family while also producing a positive impact at the community level. The Araya Jiménez family has come together to develop thier project, Finca ViaLig – Insecticos, and encourage the development of rural tourism in Pacayitas de Turrialba and the surrounding area.
Finca ViaLig – Insecticos is also one of the main strategic points of the nonprofit “Mar a Mar” project called El Camino de Costa Rica, a hiking route that crosses Costa Rica from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The route passes through rural towns with the goal of creating opportunities for sustainable development as more and more tourists from all over the world visit the path. Our enterprise serves food to walkers or hikers at the Fogón de Doña Yiya, and also offers the opportunity to stay in lodging coordinated by the owners. We also offer added value with a visit to the demonstration farm, a short hike, and the chance to learn about the natural and cultural wealth of this location.
